Write for us
We welcome clear, original pitches about how people tell, share and preserve stories. Send proposals through the Contact page; a useful pitch tells us what the piece will help readers understand and why its focus is distinct.
What we welcome
We are interested in oral storytelling, group formats, shared records, retellings and the forms stories take as they move between people. A pitch may explain a process, compare approaches, explore a history or offer a carefully framed reading of a particular storytelling practice.
What makes a strong pitch
Name the central question, the intended reader and the specific angle. Tell us what material or expertise would support the piece, what context readers need and how the proposal avoids speaking for people whose views may differ. Keep the scope focused enough for one article.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a working title, a short outline and a brief note about your relevant connection to the subject. Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have requested one.
