About us
United Story House looks at the stories people make and carry together. We cover spoken traditions, group storytelling, shared records and the choices involved in keeping a story alive without treating any community as a single voice.
What we cover
Our subjects include oral traditions, story circles, shared archives and the forms that help stories travel. We are interested in both the shape of a telling and the people involved: who speaks, who listens, what is kept, and what may change along the way.
Who it is for
This publication is for curious readers, facilitators, family historians and anyone who has wondered how a story becomes part of a group’s memory. You do not need specialist knowledge to follow along; we explain terms and keep the focus on choices readers can recognise.
How we approach a story
We distinguish a documented account from interpretation, avoid claiming that one person speaks for a whole group, and make room for uncertainty where the record is incomplete. Our aim is to help readers notice the craft and context of shared storytelling, not prescribe a single right way to tell.
